Hurricane Sandy, which some are nicknaming "Frankenstorm", is threatening the East Coast, with an expected arrival on Sunday, days before Halloween. This is not the "trick" most of us were expecting.
Authorities are speculating that the storm could be worse than last year's Hurricane Irene and cause an estimated $1 billion in damage. With heavy winds and rainfall expected, you need to prepare your property and your tenants for the storm.
If you have any known leaks at your property or debris sitting around, it would be a good idea to take care of it now, before the storm comes and causes additional damage. Also, remember to clean storm drains and gutters. Advise tenants to keep an adequate amount of bottled water, non-perishable food items and batteries and flashlights on hand.
