Apartments.com has upped the ante in the rental property game by introducing a new feature to their website. This feature is one many landlords dread, the apartment review.
Much like the popular neighborhood review site, Yelp.com, users can log in and rate their current or former apartments. Users can write a long review or can rate aspects like neighborhood, value and staff on a scale from zero to five stars.
The website understands the concern of many property owners and has released a post to help alleviate these concerns. They claim that out of the 1,000 reviews they have so far, 72 percent have been four or five stars. They also go into a detailed explanation of how they will moderate the reviews.
I understand that reviews could be a useful tool for renters, but, like many other property investors, have concerns as to the type of tenant who would be most likely to write such a review. Hopefully, Apartments.com is correct in their assumptions and will moderate the system so that both landlords and tenants get a fair shake.Suggested Reading:
