The city of New York held a contest to design the first New York Micro Apartments. The winners were a team of designers from Monadnock Development LLC, Actors Fund Housing Development Corporation and nARCHITECTS. Their concept for the apartments, which will be less than 400 square feet each, include 10 foot high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and fold away beds.
The apartments will be the first of their kind in New York. Fifty five units will be built in a site on the east side of Manhattan. They are expected to be ready for occupancy by September of 2015.
So, what do you think? Would you be willing to invest in one of these microscopic gems, or even live in one?
You can see a slideshow of the units on Yahoo News.
