Great Plains Pummeled by Snowstorm

By February 25, 2013

Follow me on:

The Great Plains area of the United States is being pummeled with a massive snowstorm. The storm has caused treacherous conditions in areas such as Colorado, Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. Roads and airports have been closed as heavy snow and winds have made travel unsafe and, in some cases, impossible. The storm could dump as many as 16 inches of snow in areas which already have a foot of snow on the ground due to winter storms last week.

Conditions such as these can cause much anxiety for landlords and property investors. Being unable to reach your property or check on your tenants in an emergency is quite unsettling.

It is so important to prepare for these situations as thoroughly as possible before they occur. Making sure each of your properties is equipped with salt and shovels is a step in the right direction as is making sure the property is sufficiently insulated against the cold. Check out Ready.gov for some other useful home winterizing tips.
